Notice of Funds Available

The Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants (OVSJG) is the state administering agency for grant programs at the US Department of Justice. OVSJG manages a portfolio of federal grants with annual funding levels that vary according to availability of funds allocated to states and programs. This portfolio includes a number of federal formula grants and local grant funds. These grants are primarily awarded for justice grants and victim services programs.

Fiscal Year 2016 Victim Legal Network of DC Grant Program

The Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants announces the availability of grant funds under Fiscal Year 2016 Victim Legal Network of DC Grant Program (“VLNDC”)  to create a public website and member portal for the VLNDC. The public website will serve to inform the general public about the VLNDC, instruct them on the rights of crime victims in the District of Columbia, and allow crime victims to submit a request for legal assistance.

The VLNDC member portal will ideally include information on each VLN member agency; allow members to effectively and securely communicate amongst themselves; and contain a reporting function that allows the creation of monthly reports that include information on the number of victims referred and served, and a secure drive where members can upload documents to be shared.

The Request for Applications (RFA) will be available electronically beginning Monday, August 22, 2016 at http://ovsjg.dc.gov .   The deadline for applications is 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2016.  For more information, contact Jaime Farrant, Grants Program Specialist, Office of Victim Service and Justice Grants at (202) 727-64955 or [email protected].
