April is Second Chance Month

Join OVSJG as we commemorate Second Chance Month, a nationwide effort to raise awareness of the barriers faced by individuals with criminal records and unlock brighter futures for returning citizens. It is especially crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic to highlight the challenges men and women face upon reentry as they seek healthcare, housing, and employment.

The Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants collaborates with and provides funding to District agencies and community-based organizations that provide services to incarcerated and returning citizens. These programs work to reduce barriers to successful reentry by providing job placement, housing, and other support services that help prepare justice-involved individuals for success. For more information on coordinated reentry efforts in the District, visit the DC Reentry Action Network (RAN)
