National Crime Victims’ Rights Week – April 24-30, 2022

During National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (April 24-30) we seek to promote victims' rights and honor crime victims and those who advocate on their behalf. The theme of this year’s commemoration is Rights, access, equity, for all victims. "This year's theme underscores the importance of helping crime survivors find their justice by enforcing victims' rights, expanding access to services, and ensuring equity and inclusion for all."

Across the nation, criminal justice systems have adjusted their processes to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus and keep people healthy. It is critical that victims’ rights are not overlooked during this time and that we craft responses that keep everyone safe and allow victims to safely access services and have their voices heard.

The Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants provides funding and support for organizations that advocate for victims’ rights. In DC, if you or someone you know is a victim of crime, please contact the DC Victim Hotline at 1-844-4HELPDC (844-443-5732) or via chat at dcvictim.org to access support and services.
