ASK DC is a project of Men Can Stop Rape and the District of Columbia Executive Office of the Mayor's Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants. ASK DC is a District-wide initiative bringing together victim service providers, public officials, military personnel, colleges and universities, the medical community, law enforcement, violence prevention experts, universities and advocates throughout the community to offer sexual assault response resources for victims of violence. The initiative centers on the launch of a new resource, the ASK DC app, a free, first-of-its-kind mobile application and website that combines 33 support resources available to victims of sexual assault and dating/domestic violence in the D.C. area in one, easily accessible place.
This app is available on iPhone and Android platforms and allows friends, family, and colleagues a unique opportunity to actively intervene in the event that a loved one needs help, while providing an ASK DC app user with an easy-to-use deterrent and security device that can be accessed 24 hours a day.
