 Addressing Issues That Arise in Family Court Cases Involving Immigrant Survivors and Children: Learning from Judges

Please join for the OVSJG and NIWAP hosted webinar for  atraining for family and legal aid lawyers

This 90-minute online training will address:

  • Key issues that arise for immigrant victims in custody and protection order cases;
  • Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) confidentiality’s protections against discovery in
  • family court cases and against deportation;
  • U visa certification by family court judges;
  • Obtaining Special Immigrant Juvenile Status findings for abused, abandoned or
  • neglected immigrant children, including children on U visa victims; and
  • Enforcing affidavits of support and other economic relief for abused immigrants and
  • their children.

Webinar attendees receive access to toolkits, tools, and resources on immigrant crime victims’ legal rights and to NIWAP’s web library, online webinars, and will learn about NIWAP’s technical assistance on individual cases of immigrant survivors that attorneys encounter in their work.
