If you or someone you know is interested in this training opportunity, please see the course details below.

About the Community Interpreter training:

The Community Interpreter is a two-part, 8-day training course during which participants learn the basics of community interpreting and practice interpretation skills under the guidance of an experienced instructor, Drew Bahr. Ayuda strongly encourages folks with any of the following language skills to apply: Bengali, Cantonese, Mandarin, Haitian Creole, Indigenous Latin American languages, West African languages, Hindi, Indonesian, Korean, Nepali, Portuguese, Punjabi, Sylheti, Tagalog, Thai, Tigrinya, Vietnamese, and Urdu.

The training will take place via Zoom from Monday, July 25th, 2022, through Friday, July 29th, 2022 (from 9AM to 5PM on all 5 days), and Friday, August 5th, 2022, through Sunday, August 7th, 2022 (from 9AM to 5PM on all 3 days). The training is free, but applicants who are selected to participate will be asked to submit a $50 deposit online to hold their place in the class (instructions will be provided via email once applicants are notified of their acceptance). Deposits will be refunded upon successful completion of the training.
