Every Day Counts!: Working Together for Students - September 26, 2017

On September 26, 2017, the Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants (OVSJG) Show Up, Stand Out Program hosted an Attendance Awareness Month event for parents and the District of Columbia school community on improving attendance and preventing truancy.The event was held at the Columbia Heights Education Campus and featured firsthand experiences from parents, community organizations, and school officials. Participants discussed strategies for engaging parents, addressing barriers to attendance, and the District's Every Day Counts! engagment campaign.

DC Victim Hotline

The DC Victim Hotline is available for all crime victims in the District of Columbia. The hotline number is 844-4-HELP-DC (844-443-5732) and is operational 24/7. The hotline victim assistance staff provides basic crisis-intervention support and helps callers access the complete continuum of care for crime victims, including relevant and appropriate resources based on the needs of the caller.
