The District of Columbia Victim Services Crisis Response Team will be recognized next week by the Congressional Victims’ Rights Caucus for their work in the immediate response and aftermath of the Washington Navy Yard shooting on September 16, 2014.

Director Melissa Hook and the Office of Victim Services will be receiving this award on behalf of all DC agencies and community-based organizations that gave their time and service on September 16, 2014 and the weeks and months following. The organizations, agencies and individuals that will be honored are:

-          Crime Victim Compensation

-          Department of Behavioral Health

-          Department of Human Services

-          MPD Victim Services Branch

-          FBI Victim Witness Unit

-          DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence

-          Daniel Rappaport of American University
