This event will provide interested attorneys with a close-up look at DCVLP's domestic violence and child advocacy practice areas. Staff and current volunteers will explain their work, share their experiences, and answer any questions about volunteering to represent a DV survivor or at-risk child. DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence offers our Domestic Violence Advocate Core Competency Training (DV ACT) to provide counselors and advocates at member organizations with Advocate Privilege (DC ST § 14-310). This 6 day training (November 1st, 3rd, 10th, 15th, 17th and 22nd from 9 am - 5 pm) covers dynamics of domestic violence, trauma resulting from domestic violence, crisis intervention, personal safety, risk management, criminal and civil court processes, and resources available to victims. Additional competency areas included in the training are described below.

Encourages residents, businesses, nonprofits, and religious institutions to install security cameras.
The Sexual Assault Victims' Rights Amendment Act Task Force will be holding an open meeting on August 12, 2015 in room G-9 of 1350 Pennsylvania Ave, NW.
