President Trump has proclaimed April 2018 as Second Chance Month and encourages residents to commemorate this month with events and activities that raise public awareness about preventing crime and providing those who have completed their sentences an opportunity for a second chance. 

The Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants partners with and funds District agencies and community based organizations that provide reentry services in the District. These programs work to reduce policy barriers to successful reentry and provide job placement, housing, and supportive services that help prepare returning citizens for successful reintegration.
