Beyond the Basics: Collecting and Utilizing Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Data

In recent years, there have been many advances for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) communities; however, many barriers still exist when members of these communities seek health and safety services. Because many institutions do not collect sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) data, the experiences of LGBTQ people are invisible. Beyond the Basics: Collecting and Utilizing Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Data will introduce participants to best practices for collecting, analyzing, and utilizing SOGI data to better address the needs of LGBTQ program participants.

The webinar will be offered twice. The first webinar is on Thursday September 13, 2016 and again on Wednesday September 21, 2016. Both sessions are from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. ET.

DC Victim Hotline

The DC Victim Hotline is available for all crime victims in the District of Columbia. The hotline number is 844-4-HELP-DC (844-443-5732) and is operational 24/7. The hotline victim assistance staff provides basic crisis-intervention support and helps callers access the complete continuum of care for crime victims, including relevant and appropriate resources based on the needs of the caller.
