Gun Violence Awareness Month provides an opportunity for individuals and organizations to raise public awareness about gun violence and is a call to action on educating communities on how to prevent it.
Mayor Bowser recently launched Building Blocks DC and its partnered Gun Violence Prevention Emergency Operations Center, is the first-of-its-kind in the country to address gun violence using a public health approach.
The Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants provides financial and technical support to local programs that work with victims/survivors of gun violence. If you are a victim of gun violence seeking services, please contact the DC Victim Hotline by phone or text at 1-844-4HELPDC (844-443-5732) or via chat at dcvictim.org.
