This training is part of a series of trainings under the Enhancing the District’s Response to Trauma (EDRT) project—an initiative developed under a partnership between The District of Columbia Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants (OVSJG) and Give an Hour-and is intended to provide mental health clinicians and others on the front lines who work with survivors of trauma and victims of crime with the tools to avoid further trauma for their clients.

 

Raymond Barrett, CEO, LMHC, LPC, is the founder of the Telehealth Certification Institute and an expert telemental health consultant and instructor. He has assisted many organizations with creating, launching, and enhancing their telehealth programs, developed several courses on telemental health, and provided speaking engagements nationwide. In this training, participants can expect to learn: the definition of telehealth and telemental health; the theory and benefits of telemental health; the possible risks of telemental health; the types of settings and locations appropriate for telemental health; to determine if they can legally practice telemental health; where to find the sources of telemental health ethical guidelines; to ensure practicing within their boundaries of competence when providing telemental health; the topics that need to be in an informed consent for telemental health and more!
