National Crime Victims' Rights Week Interactive Timeline

"Honoring Our Past, Creating Hope for the Future:" An Interactive Timeline will be a community-created exhibit for the public, advocates, and survivors. Part art, part history, and part letters of hope for the future, this installation will celebrate milestones in DC's crime victims' rights, honor community and individual losses and trauma, and allows partners and participants to discuss innovative approaches for survivor-defined justice that are being piloted or could be explored in the coming year.

An Insider Look: Sexual Assault Response in the District

Join us to learn about the results of an evaluation of the DC Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program followed by a community discussion on available services for survivors of sexual assault. The event includes a panel discussion featuring NVRDC, DCFNE, & DCRCC leadership; and Choice Research Associates, moderated by Karen Mulhauser.

MedStar Washington Hospital Center Trauma Survivors Support Group

Free, confidential support for survivors and loved ones of traumatic injury as a result of an event such as a car accident, gunshot wound or fall. Light snacks provided.

Kid's Book Bash

Last Date:

Book Bash, sponsored by Community Family Life Services, is one big party for families in the DC community meant to encourage literacy and a love of reading among children and families without the resources to buy new books.! This year superheroes, Black Panther and Spiderman, will be on hand to teach children some karate moves and tell them about their adventures. There will also be free face painting, crafts and games, food, prize giveaways for parents and kids, DJ dance party, and of course lots of free books for all ages.
